Received permission today to detect an old mansion in town . I went right over for a fast scan of the back yard. Found this guy, He's made of lead. Didn't Mel Gibson melt some of these into bullets in the Patriot? I'm wondering the age . Goldbill P.S. the quarter is for size I found it in my pocket!!!!!

Don't know the age, but I played with some like this in the 70's. Looks like he should be on a horse Cool Relic non the less.

It looks like he was riding a horse Bill ! Did you recheck the hole to make sure his horse was not underneath him ? Seriously ! I like finding these and am always curious as too dating these ! You should post it in what is it ?? What no coins from this early 19th century mansion yet ! I know they will come !! MaineRelic

Thanks Wldbil I remember toys like these from the 70's but I'm thinking cast not lead. I could be wrong a long time ago..
