Found at a field near a 1700's home site. Made out of lead and appears to once have had a loop on the front for attaching to something. X pattern stamped on the face, and the reverse is blank.

Maybe a miniature toy dollhouse flatiron. I know they made lead ones.

Based on it's size, this could also be a 'heraldic shield' version of a horse rosette. :icon_scratch:
Here's a fairly modern example I found in 2013, it's lead with a silver wash.
