Hard to see on the photo, but a pottery repair have a kinda groove all the way around where the pottery used to be. Hard to exaplain but if it were prefectly round it would look like a pulley wheel.

the top of this would be round if straightened and the underneath looks like it has been melted into a hole,
it looks like a flattened tulip

I'm wondering if its an old splattered bullet :icon_scratch:

youve got the right image of it i can see what your saying but its too round on one side and too odd shaped underneath tobe a bullet! i think

Could be a fired bullet that has hit something hard such as a rock and the nose expanded. Can't tell for sure because the base is too blurry to make out shape. Monty

From the description and the pics I think it's the cap of a lead head nail.
