The site I go to seems to have been active with gill net fishermen, loggers and stone cutters. I have figured the time frame of activity to have been 1880-1920. I have found many of these pliable caps. My research is sketchy with only two hits on the internet that discuss them. One person says they are from flasks. The other person thinks these were used during the transition from cork to screw on tops. One is still attached to glass.
Any guesses?
