Found this small 4'' long by 1/2 '' wide 1/8'' thick lead ribbon strip or bar marked Nat' Casket Co about 7 in deep in a plug today ,, sorry no pics can no get a good pic of writing on the lead , i was not able to find any info happy huntinn

Lead gaskets were used in caskets "back in the day". especially during the civil war when bodies were shipped a long ways and prepping/embalming wasn't available. Seal up the 'stank' and the 'heebie-jeebies'. :laughing7:

Kinda looks like a wood duck decoy lead strip...

The lead was probably repurposed...
