I found this solid lead object with threads on a civil war battlefield today. Is it part of a shell fuze? Is it junk? I need help here civil war experts. I did find a 12 pounder shell and the nose to a 20 pounder parrott in the same vicinity as where this piece was found. Any clue as to what it could be? Thanks for any insight you can give. Lead object with threads.webp

Maybe im seeing it wrong but they dont look like threads, hope you get an answer.

Civil war era artillery fuzes made of "white metals" (such as lead, zinc, solder, etc) never had less than 8 threads per inch, and 12 per inch was typical. Your find has too few threads-per-inch to be from a civil war fuze.
