can you post the reverse side of it? you only have one side on the 1st picture. And it looks like a hand-held mirror to me.

spot on i would say :icon_thumleft: plus i dont think its made of lead i think its made out of pewter :icon_thumleft:

Grave plot marker used before the stone is set. Usually would have a number painted on it corresponding with a map of some kind. Monty

I believe you may be right Monty. Now I wonder what it was doing back behind my mothers house. Just makes me think. I'll wait until tomorrow and see if any other responses come in before I flag this as solved. Thanks again......

My guess would be that when a stone was placed the marker was removed and discarded? There is nothing sacred about a plot marker, it's just what it is. It served its purpose and then was of no use. I see similar ones in the local cemetary where plots are for sale. But I never have inspected one to see what it was made of. I suppose lead was the easiest way to mold them if of any age as not many people had a cutting torch and steel laying around the shop back then. Monty
