Lead horse & rider, a few wheaties, & etc...
Hello all,,,
It's been over a month since I had been out. The weather just isn't cooperating this year. I went out to the cache site for a few hours, until my fingers and toes couldn't take it any longer. The little horse and rider would have been really cool, if it had not been broken, it's made of lead. Anyone have an idea of when these were made?... I also managed a few more Wheaties, a 1945, & a 50d.
Found the old brass spicket handle at about 9" deep. I thought I was on my way to another cache... As I was leaving, I ran across a spot were all kinds of square pull-tab signals were coming in just a few inches a part. The way the signal was acting I thought for sure it was going to be a gold chain, or something. They turned out to be 9mm blanks? I guess that what they are.. They have a plastic cap of some sort in place of the lead... I dug five of them and the other longer rifle blank, ( It looks smaller in the pic due to my cropping of the picture... ) Not sure how many of them I left behind, the signals were all over the place... All in all, it was good to just get back out again, and the targets did keep it intersting, instead of just finding the usual junk.. I hope ya all still have the chance to get out now, & then...
Good luck & Happy hunting~
