I found this at an estate sale and I have no idea what it is so any help would be much appreciated. This is a lead weigh with a figure stamped in the top. It is the size of two hockey pucks stacked on top of each other. If you have any additional questions that might help please let me know.

I believe that is for mixing into paint. That is The Dutch Boy embossed on the top. Might be something else though. I'm sure someone else will chime in on this one. DD.

Thanks for your input Dave. It seems a bit large for mixing paint as it weighs about 4 pounds. I cannot figure it out for the life of me so hopefully someone will know. I found it in the kitchen at an estate sale. Seems like a dangerous place to keep lead.

Pig lead ingot, used for any melting purpose including casting bullets

Probably babbitt ,Dutch boy paint was owned by national lead Co.

The marking was apparently used to promote/distinguish the fine lead made by Dutch Boy, rather than the Dutch Boy paint. A lot of people list them as paperweights, but it could well be an ingot, as Pete mentioned.

Edit: or rather the lead company that made Dutch Boy paint (I had that reversed, as Taz noted)

I noted that in the google picture search that I'd posted that some are convex on top, while others (like the one here) are better suited to sit flat, which I would think would be best for storing, shipping, etc. Is it possible that the convex ones were intended to be paperweights? -- I really don't know.
Or, to clarify; I concur this is just an ingot (a cool one), but are the others just that too? Or were they a promotional item for purchasing folks to have as a "reminder" of where they should buy ingots?

Thanks for the input guys....it is much appreciated. Seems like lead is a bad idea to have around on your desk as a paperweight but mixing it in paint was a bad idea as well. Happy new year!!!
