They look like cast pewter buttons. I cant tell you if they are genuine. Where did you obtain them? 320: 1976 Revolutionary War Recast 1775 Pewter Buttons : Lot 320

Thanks for the response. They are part of a collection at a library where I work in the North New Jersey area. If they are reproductions, when would they have been made? These have been around the library for many decades. Possibly as many as 80 years, but I am not sure. How would I investigae further? Thanks

They are reproductions of regiment military buttons from the early 19th century.

Thanks for the info. Would the reproductions be from the early 19th century or would the originals have been from then? As I mentioned in my response to "Bigcypresshunter," these have been around the library for a long time. Thanks

Hang in there, maybe they are not reproductions. But they do look like it.

Im not familiar with Revolutionary War era pewter buttons. But Im sure there is somebody here that can help. I would suggest to pick a few buttons and post close up pictures of the front and back. These pewter buttons are cast all in one piece shank included.

Be partient Im sure someone will be able to help further with these non-dug buttons..
