Hello Tnet,
Found these 2 lead balls on a field nearby my city.
The fields also showed up on a map back from 1865 with a few houses around it.
(Found them here in the Netherlands, my doednt have any war history from that time period)

Found these lead balls 1 meter appart.
I suspect they where dropped bullets but cant seem
To find the the part where they where cut of in the proces of making them.
They're about half a inch in diameter.

Anybody a idea ?

They appear to be fired round balls, like a musket shoots.

A sprue is not all ways visible.
When a ball is swaged no sprue exists , and cast balls with trimmed sprues can be rolled between two hard plates to reduce/eliminate sprues.
Or patient knife blade work can smooth them.
