Found this Saturday and posted it on today's finds but didnt get any response. Thought it was just a lead ball but with the dirt knocked off it seems to be two buckshot size pellets inside the middle of the ball. Each move easily and also seem to have little patina. Any ideas? Thanks
Was it open like this when you found it ? If so it might have been the bottom end of a homemade baby rattle , a very long time back we didn't know that lead was poisonous and many toys were made from lead . Of course this is a guess. IMHO, Woodstock
yes. it looked at first like two indentions on each side but as soon as the sand fell off it exposed the moving pellets. no cleaning has been done. Thanks for the input!
