Found at 9 inches in front yard of a home that has history to the 1750's.

It seems to be made from lead? (very heavy for its size) there is still some coloring at the eyes and mouth.
Im not sure as to the animal its supposed to be!

It is slotted on the underside and has a hole thru the top & bottom legs.(bottom is broken)
Maybe it was attached to a rod/pole?

Can anyone ID?
Time era?

Thanks in advance!

Looks like a monkey.
Maybe from a circus toy on a stick.
Cool find

Nice find for sure.

Definitely at least 1800s given the white patina.
I would say mid to late 1800s

1920 is now 100 years ago, plenty of lead objects in some soil show the white patina after 50 years in the ground. Depends on soil, moisture, fertilizer, etc. more than just time in the ground.

Neat little find. Sure didn't cost a lot to entertain a child in those days.
