What the heck is this??
Found this today, at a place that has been very good to me over the last year. Some of my oldest finds have come from this place, 1600s and 1700s coins.
The only reason I'm posting this is because it came from the money depth, thats 8inch down.
Any help would be great..

Some kind of rosette. Because of the back.

It's not exact but could be a makers plate of sorts. This one is 1869.

My second guess is a firefighter shield, mid-1800's. The style is similar to that period and being on the smaller side I guess it's not police. Hey, I tried bud.

Almost looks like it had an attachment pin on the back running vertically, which doesn't make sense to me. With no writing on the front, I am guessing rosette from horse tack.
