Dug this at a Rev War/War of 1812 site a long with a bunch of buttons, buckles and round balls. I've never seen anything quite like it before. It's made of lead. Upon first look it appears that it was melted because of the shape, but it looks to have been made this way. The hole in the middle is the same size/shape of other early badges I have dug, some still had a black ribbon going through the hole. This one did not though. Has anyone ever seen anything like it? Early Navy perhaps?
