I’m always on the lookout for good French cookware and I was not disappointed with GW yesterday. Picked up this Le Creuset Dutch Oven for $15.99. I was happy because I think the days of finding them at low prices will soon come to an end because a Le Creuset outlet store is opening 20 miles up the road and more people will now recognize the name!
I was taking pictures of the piece when I my wife walked in the kitchen and saw it...”Now that’s a nice piece! I can fry chicken in that!”. So there goes my guaranteed $125 in profit! This size 7.25qt are almost $400 new and sell for about $150-$200 used. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1533036737.185879.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1533036755.918452.jpg
Happy wife, happy life! Still good treasure.

I see those Le Creuset in the thrift stores from time to time, but most I see are pretty well used, chipped up and burnt. I did know they're pretty high-end and in good condition they can be worth some good money.

Nice oven, I just picked up a little skillet in excellent condition the other day. I was surprised to see what they sell for, especially the larger ovens! As long as the wife is happy you can keep on thrifting! I have slowly converted mine into loving going to the stores! Yours looks in great shape!

I picked up a butter dish and honey pot at a thrift store a couple of months ago. I paid $3 each for them, they both were mint condition. The lady that works there said "I just put out that La Cruset not 5 minutes ago."

I would have loved to have your dutch oven too!

Nice find and for a great price! :icon_thumleft:

That is a super find!! I paid retail for that dang pot :BangHead:

My go-to cookware, own several pieces, my kids told me to spell out in my will who gets what!!

I saw some similar in Walmart. I don't remember the brand name, but picking up the lid, the lid outweighed me. Seems it was heavier than cast iron.

Great piece. We live ours.

Great find. It is an oven for the oven. Do not fry chicken in it ir put it on high heat on the stove top. You will burn check ruin it. Baking chicken another story!

Thank you!! Maybe she will let me sell it then. I don’t think she knows it’s enamel on the inside. LOL.

Le Creuset, thats enamelled heavy cast iron. You do not need another casserole for the rest of your life.
Will last longer than yourself and Grandkids can still use it.
For 15 bucks a steal!

You're right GA Boy. I don't know why they call them dutch ovens. I bought my daughter and son in-law a Lodge medium size Dutch oven to use on their camping trips. It has 3 legs and a lid that will hold coals.

And La Creuset is designed for and can be used on top of the stove.

I actually picked up a Lodge Dutch Oven at this same store two weeks before I saw this one and talked myself out of buying it. I offered it to a lady who pointed out how nice it was.
