I wanted to see if I could "cherry pick" today and I took my Fisher F-75 to the local park at lunch time. I dug only good signals. The '67 dime was at 7", and the ground is drier now than it was all last year! I was happy with the nickel, also ('64 at 4") as this is the first one I've turned up with the F-75 and shows the notch I have set works in practice. Nothing too exciting, but I dug nine holes and pulled nine coins. That is definately a first for me. The dimes were between 4" and 7". This park (and the whole town) flooded last summer and spots silted in. It's like digging in cement in some areas.

Of course, I'll lie awake wondering if the signals I ignored that were "iffy" might have been jewelry, but I did prove I can select coins by watching the meter and confidence bars and digging only the solid numbers and high tones that don't change when "X"ed.

The cents were all in a volleyball court just under the sand. Someone keeping kids busy or one of my co-workers jerking my chain. ::)

Loving the F-75 so far.

Cool, congrats for the finds.

Great job Charlie. Those volleyball areas have been great to me too. Coins & jewelry.
Congrats,

Hey,

You should get a good strong hit on jewelry on most machines. Those broken signals are usually trash. Unless its a nice item that has corrosion, Like a corroded penny. Also a good item with a trashy item togeather and those are few and far in between. Good solid foil hits at deep depths 5+ inches and clear Nickle/Pulltab hits is the jewelry you want.

Keep @ it and HH!!

I tell you the story of the "penny park"....

Cherry picking doesn't always work...this place is PAVED with pennies. Every swing has 4-10 pennies. No dime signals, no quarters, not even nickle/pull tab IDs...just friggin pennies. So I took a 10 X 10 square and determined to dig every penny. Ended up with 75 memorials, once those were gone I swung it again and found silver ear ring, 10 nickels, 2 silver rosies and a silver washington. I didn't get any of those signals until all those pennies were gone. Some times you just gotta dig out the trash to get to the good stuff...
