I've been getting a few silver coins lately, rare in the spots I hunt, 1 decent 43 Merc, another merc & 4 rosies, all toast, got 3 large cents, all Matrons, an 1816 in ok condition, 1770 half Pence,
another chinese coin, not early like my first, 1898 for this one.
Silver cup rim, assorted other relics & stuff.
Thanks for looking & HH to you all! :icon_thumleft:

is the long pointy thing with the hole in the wider end some kind of a needle ? I have a couple of those too.

Great Finds! Nice coins and relics. The skeleton key and the locking mechanism are sweet.

Nice bunch of finds :icon_thumright:

Still doing great Herbie. Love that old key. I think the weathers going to get nasty pretty soon. Weve been lucky so far.

Greetings,
Glad to be of help Id'ing these for you, took me a while also.
They are the remains of Mackeral jigs, I have dozens of them in many varieties.
there are 4 more in the pic below the one I think you refer to.
(I search a lot of coastal areas), these were generally used longline fashion, and can date from Colonial up.
In a previous post about these items I placed a link for old diagrams on how they were made, mostly in paper molds.
Good Day, & Great Digs to all!

What is the fancy piece in picture #8? Kind of looks like a musket escutcheon...

was wondering about this piece myself, it is 77mm long, brass/bronze/copper.
Any further info is appreciated.

Yep...part of a trigger assembly I believe. That little tab on the bottom is the give away. Maybe a Brown Bess but definitely old.

Great News!
Another first find for me :hello2:
