One day a few weeks ago, I received the phone call that most of us will get 1-20 times in the course of our metal detecting career. A couple on the other side of town was doing some late season yard work after the snow had melted and the man looked down on his finger and had realized he lost his wedding ring. They had the spot narrowed down to some bushes they were working in, and in the front yard. After agreeing to go over there, I fired up the detector and within a half hour had found the gold wedding band. The couple was very grateful for me taking the time to go look for the lost ring. I wish the house was a lot older so I could have struck a detecting deal! But at least they got the ring back.
