Late finds

I was away Sat. and missed a heavily advertise local estate sale. I Decided to head over Sun. (everything 50% off, at noon, all is free), I got there around 10a.m. After I filled-up a box of misc. for $5, I headed upstairs. On the top of a bureau, scattered all over, were obviously picked-through jewelry (like everything else in the house), I spotted a sterling (925) piece and decided to throw it all in a small box and see what they wanted? The seller said they wanted $10, I ended-up getting it for $5. I separated the silver and gold piece that I could find looking quickly. Think I'll need to take a closer look with a 10x magnifier.

The pile on the right is the treasure pieces I found in the $5 lot. Amazing I was able to find this a day+ after the sale started...
Goes to show, you never know.

Nice to find gold and silver in a "junk" lot aint it? Nice Currier & Ives litho too, is it an original? You know that scene is on the label of a bottle of Southern Comfort?

You mean to tell me you picked that lot late in the 2nd day of a sale?

Around here, if you arent the 1st or 2nd person at a sale, ALL (and I mean costume or not) of the jewelry will either be gone completely or picked through to point where all thats left are those "awareness ribbon pins" and avon junk.

On Sat I was at an advertised 8am sale at 8:20. I asked about jewelry to be told the guy just before me bought it all including the jewelry box!

I was shocked to see the first sterling piece, considering I missed most of the sale. I was even more shocked going through the items that I had dumped in the box.

Yes the Currier & Ives is an original, paid $8, at a sale last month.

Seriously though, I thought it was a Currier & Ives print, I googled it to be sure and it was mentioned on one of the results. Thought it was an interesting tidbit of info. to throw out there.
