It was a long day today. Daughter got her drivers license yesterday and we had a long day out car shopping. We did get her one and I was glad to get that over. When I got home I packed everything up and headed for a local lake. I could not believe that the water was still quite cool after all these 90 degree days. I waded out to about shoulder deep water and started swinging. In about 5 feet of walking I got a great tone and came up with this 14k man's band with 3 diamond chips. I thought this was going to be a great hunt right off. Sorry did not pull out anymore gold. I hunted 2 more hours and only found clad coins ($2.17). Here is the ring. Thanks for looking. Bruce

WTG on that ring. I would take a piece of gold any day of the week.

That's happened to a lot of us I'm sure, I know it has to me. Nice looking ring!!

I'm still new to the hobby. Can you tell me more about "how" you retrieve the target when you are in 5' of water? Around here, waters are very nasty, with only 1' or less visibility and lots of slime/vegetation on the water. I couldn't imagine even getting IN the water for a second, none the less spending an afternoon wading in it MD'ing.

beautiful gold ring :icon_thumright: any gold in the treasure chest is good gold

WTG on the gold ring. plus to snyper77 you get a sand scoop with a handle that is around 40" long. Then when you get a signal you get th scoop close to where the coil wa and dig in and bring it to the top and hope you got the target. When I get a signal I put one of my foot next to where thecoil was and then bring the scoop to my foot and dig it. Hope this helps. You don't have sand beachs where yo live.....Matt

Camb 1 like the ring, but I really want to talk to you 'bout your daughter. Mine got her license this year. she waited 'til she was 18, just didn't want to get one. (kinda wierd really) but believe me I didn't argue! now of course the fun begins. reminding them always "call me when you get there" "call me before you leave" etc. It is soooo hard to let them have the autonomy, but it's helpful too. we live about 20 miles to the closest small town, 60 to the movie theaters, shopping etc. my critter is blessedley responsible, so I don't have to worry to much. HAH! it's not her I worry about, it's the crazies out there. I think valium was invented for parents whose kids just got their license. having a good hobby helps retain our sanity. I bet your finds will at least double this yr. (as well as your time spent hunting) one more thing. teach her how to change a tire. get her a gift basket w/ a tire gauge, all the cleaners & there is an emergency flasher that hooks up to the lighter that is a good thing to have. & there is a window breaker/ seat belt cutter that fits right on the seat belt. good thing to have but hope will never use. when given as a gift basket, these things seem to be more fun than chores like the cleaning. well enuf babbling. i feel for ya. have fun, & happy hunting.

And don't forget the GAS card. (Mind started last yr.) BTW nice ring find. D.D.

:D OH gosh, I remember the days both of mine got their license... :D They'd be leaving out of the drive and I'd be praying..."Lord..PLEASE let 'em get back home safely....later, they'd get back..and I'd say "Thank ya, Lord". :D Those were some nerve stressing days for sure! :D

Now about that ring! Wow, Cam!!! 8) Terrific find!! :icon_pirat:

Nana

In the water you use what is called a beach scoop with a 4 foot handle. The lakes around here are quite large and clean. Water reservoirs for cities. Thanks for looking.
