Tony and I continued our quest to get on new ground every hunt and today we got on to a decent older site...which unfortunately had been hunted before us. Undaunted we spent a few hours there and I pretty much got skunked. I got the 41 silver dime and the two moderns pennies and a lot of scrap not shown. Tony fared a little better but we still left feeling a little disappointed. We decided to finish the day at one of our old favorites...after digging Tony's truck out of a soupy bog...and that's where I got my one and only decent target. It's only the second wax seal that I've found in 12 years so I was quite pleased with that! Looking forward to next weekend.

Awesome seal!

Nice find on the Wax Seal...Congrats !! What kind of date range do you think...

Congrats on the nice wax seal.

I would love to find one of those.

Best of luck to you sir.

JUST MAKES ME WANT TO THROW A TANTRUM...

Oh, man! That matrix is awesome!! Such a deal is at the very top of my civics civilian relics bucket list. Well done!

Please update with pics of the impression if/when you use it.

Hmmm...this looks like a serpent side plate (brass) from a musket!!!!

That's what I originally thought but the side plates I've seen online were more 3 dimensional...

That is one foxy ring! Congratulations.

Out of curiosity, what is the beat up little coin on your pinky/ring finger?

Eh...there were numerous designs of the side plates and I am fairly certain that you found one of them. The Northwest Trade rifle had a very unique design but there were many other manufacturers that made a similar side plate. Solid work!
