After today, I'm probably removing batteries, and hanging up the weapons. So, it was in the 60's today, so I decided to give the park an all day invasion. The plan was to hit all the rest of the places where I thought people would congragate. In the morning, I managed to find another 51 clad. Oldest 1943 Canadian penny.
In the afternoon, I changed from coin shooting to relic hunting. I went to some area's that I could tell had a lot of fill.
This place has had fill from all over the area. And it seems like that fill has alot of history in it also.
First I found this City of Chicago Vehicle Tax plaque from 1913. My day is made, I love this kind of stuff!
So I'm on cloud nine, and 5 minutes later, the AT hit a solid 91. 4 inches down a 1915 Illinois bicycle law plaque. Now it's cloud TEN!
Picked up some small iron piece's and odd's and ends, then I get an 81. This is what came out of the ground. Picture is not that great, so what I can tell you is it's rusty, round, heavy (my honey got me a scale, but I can't open it till christmas), and it measure's around .600. Ball bearing or something else?
Half hour later this one. It's .448 thick by .660 long.
If anyone can tell me about these 2 finds, I'd appreciate it. I know what I am hoping they are, but I'll wait for the experts. Today's find's:
This was one of my best day's since I've started this sport. Gonna be a long winter
Plan on being at this park, the first day of the 2018 season.
Not pictured (Flat beer cans and pull tabs) You guy's know what they look like
Thanks for looking! HH
