After spending 5-days in Nebraska (with no detector) I was hoping to squeeze
in one more hunt this year so I met Kimsdad and Des Plaines Silver Bob to hit the
woods one last time.

First couple of hits were some "lost" spoons not far from the river and after moving to
another location, I found a rather "burnt" 1923 Wheat and a 1935-S Merc.

The surprise of the day was a girl's 1974 class ring (10K) from St. Alphonsus H.S. in
Dearborn, MI and a 1909 V.D.B. (no "S" >:() wheat. This is the second 1909 wheat
I've found this year so I'm hoping the next one will be the charm :)

WTG on a great last hunt for the year. Happy New Year

Awesome hunt bud!!!!

Whoa, Mark!! You're not kidding when you said that '09 cleaned up good! :o Great find!!!

It was good to get out & get muddy today, but even better to see that great stuff you pulled up! Congrats on that ring and the gorgeous Merc!!

That wheat I found was so corroded you can hardly read the full date, but it's a '19. I've got to sit that SE of mine down and have a serious chit-chat with it. :-\

Maybe we can get out again later in the week.... ::) ;D

Might just get to return that ring if there's enough on it to do so, it's always a cool thing to see someone get something back that they thought was gone forever. That's some way to wind the year down.

Great hunt!

WOW !!!
Talk about ending on a high note. Those are all great finds.

I was hoping the weather would go my way once, but it didn't work out. All of that snow and cold last week, then pouring rain on Saturday, cold on Sunday but got out for a few hours with Twistidd. Had to work Monday and Tuesday and whatya know... in the 40's.

Off today and tomorrow, but high in the 20's last I looked. I have to work Friday and I don't even want to look at the forecast because it'll probably be in the 70's and sunny until
Friday at 4:30pm when it'll get down to the single digits until guess when..... Monday, when we'll see
unseasonably mild temps through the week. At least this is what it's seemed like to me.
End of weather rant. ;D

Happy New Year Everyone!
Mike
