I haven't written in a while, but I have been active the last few weekends. After finding the silver ring in my first hunt 3 weeks ago I continue pounding the same improvised ball bark all weekends since. I have dug approximatelly $8 dollars in clad so far, but no more silver. The closest to a silver coin was a 1965 quarter.

Well, today I dug my first 2 wheat cents from the same place: 1948D & 1936

All this with my Explorer SE.

By the way, do you guys keep the wheats or do you place them back into circulation?

I will try to post photos later.

Glad your having fun! I keep nearly everything.....my children, now adults, shake their heads at my stash of pennies and junk.

Keep the wheats!!!! I keep anything I consider non-modern. So anything silver and any penny before 1959.

Good finds!

Hi salaloid. Great work! I keep all of the wheat cents that I find. I put all the non-valuable clad and other coinage into a tumbler to get the dirt off and then I put them back into circulation.

I keep all my wheats! Only the clad and memorials go back into circulation after a cleaning.

Congrats on the 2 ya did find. Probably more there under all the clad ya dug!

Definitely keep the wheats, like everbody said the clad go back in circulation, though the coinstar.
