I haven't been able to post pictures of my last few hunts until now. I have been detecting with my dad who is just getting into detecting and my good buddy Chris who is a TNET member here.
First hunt was the three of us detecting an old empty house in town. Owners only wanted anything pertaining to the family that lived there so off we went. We hit the site very hard for about 4 hours. Will be going back to cover it more though. Lots of trash in the ground. Best finds were a couple wheat pennies for my dad, an old key ring with a skeleton key on it for Chris, and a FIRST for me, a 1911 V NICKEL!
The next hunt was just my dad and I at two empty lots next to the old railroad in town. Again, LOTS of trash. I found a flattened penny and my dad found a half flattened quarter that I didn't get into the picture. MY dad found the old pocket knife, I found the old picture frame piece and then, I popped out this awesome brass MO PAC RR Railroad luggage tag! I'm very excited about finding this. My dad retired from the railroad after working for 40 years with Cotton Belt then Southern Pacific then Union Pacific.
