Here's my finds from my last few hunts. First hunt was a soaking, rainy day! Started off finding two 3 ringers less than an inch in the ground on top of some rocks. Came back around later on the other side of the fence and dug another 3 ringer about 6 inches down. They all have a cool little nipple on the top of them. I also found an aluminum token that says "Good For 2 cents When Returned With Our Bottle" on the front and "Swiss Dairy - 403 - 5. Capt. St." on the back. Neat find...I don't find too many tokens. Then I found a REALLY nice 1918 wheatie about 11 inches in the ground. Couldn't believe the F75 picked that up in the highly mineralized ground, with a good tone on top of it!! Later I found a small flat tombac button.

Second hunt which was a short half hour or so hunt after work this past Saturday. I hunted a small section and I ended up finding my very first 1957 silver Roosevelt and a 1962 penny about a foot from it. That was a nice little treat for a short hunt.

Last hunt was another rainy day and my detector went a little haywire! My first find was a nice dropped .54 calibur gardner after that I found a couple deep modern pennies! Darn deep pennies making you think ya got something good! lol I started up a path through the woods, about then I got a call from my cousin(flyinryan2) who told me he found an old coin spill. So I walked over to see what he had. Check out his finds here: http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/t...ian-penny-wheaties-1920d-merc-coin-spill.html

I left that spot and headed across the property to some fields I haven't detected yet and wasn't having much luck...went up in front of a small patch of woods and came across part of a horseshoe and then I found 3 more .54 cal. gardners and a burnside. The one gardner is very interesting. It's picture below. Looks like it was either in the stages of being melted, or I wonder if it turned out that way when they were making the bullet? Either way, a great find! Later on I found a crusty indian head(my 5th for the year) to bad of shape to post and my second 1918 wheat penny. A little worn though. Thanks for looking guys and girls and happy hunting! Pictures aren't in order by the way. I don't know why it doesn't upload them in order any more.

More nice finds Matt. Looks like someone took a hunk out of that Gardner with a knife while it was warm. Maybe they intended to make a CS nipple protector and gave up. You have my vote for the most devoted relic hunter in the U.S. this Spring. HH, Quindy.

Thanks, Quindy! I'm very tickled with this year so far. This site is gonna be perfect for late fall and winter hunting when there isn't so much over growth. Can't wait!

Thanks man.

Congrats on the finds, 3 silvers already, i know you will find some more. i cant wait till this winter when the thickets aren't so thick!!!

Thanks Ryan. Tell me about it! It was nearly impossible to metal detect in there today. The grass is way too tall. Hopefully they mow a couple of those fields or bring the cows in soon. Or we may just have to wait til winter!
