Met up with GKlug today at a drained lake not too far from me, just wanted to say ive tried it. Very neat scenery and even a visitor showed up!
Both our detectors were almost silent, very surprising that the targets were so limited, did manage one of the nicest preserved 1940 wheats I ever dug. We stayedthere for about an hour or so and decided id try to get a permission or two in. got 3 no's and then finally got a yes, a nice older woman who said "sure as long as you show me what you've found", well we were at it about 10 minutes and she came out and says "oh I have to change my mind, I called my kids and theyre upset at me" Oh well, such is life I guess, I tried 2 more places after that and no one home, ended up dropping greg back off at his car and on my way home I stopped by a house that old dude and I have tried to get permission at before, someone was finally home, I got a yes and right away got a 1903 Indian, followed by some clad, a Pennsylvania transportation authority token, some wheats, a 1924 buffalo nickel, and a 64 roosie, So last ditch effort salvaged the day, would've stayed longer but mother nature decided to POUR on me, nice place that the owners invited me back to as long as theyre home. Thanks for looking and HH!!
