I have not had much to post about in a couple of weeks. Just a little find here and there. I figured that I’d post it all at once, so this is three weeks worth of finds.
The place I’ve been hunting has marbles. I’ve found these in the erosion gullies, around the housing.
I’ve gotten a lot of clad, and a bunch of wheaties. The occasional oddity has shown up, like this 1940s British penny.
I got a token from the fair, that some yahoo put his name on ( I would have preferred an expletive!). As well as a token someone ruined with a nail.
None of this is what I am looking for... I want some silver! It’s just been tough to find lately.
This looked like a pull tab at first, but upon closer examination turned out to be a Joseph Esposito sterling ring. Or what’s left of one.
With the rains this week, the ground was damp, and the signals were good this morning. I went to the last place I saw Smittyman hunting, as he usually leaves me something good. Sure enough, I turned this plug over, and was greeted by a blackish silver disc.
Much to my amazement, a quick rinse revealed an SLQ!
It’s tarnished, and worn smooth, but it’s beautiful to me. Only the 4th one I’ve found, in 4.5 years.
Thanks for looking and good luck on your hunts.
