I've been out a few times recently. Haven't been able to pick up any more colonial coins but a few relics have turned up. The weather has been absolutely great this week in upstate New York. Even though the coins have been making themselves scarce lately I'm grateful to have had this beautiful weather to hunt in. I ditched the jeans for shorts this week and I paid for it on my first hunt. I picked up a tick while woods hunting. I didnt notice it until the next day and that sucker (literally) had burrowed into my thigh. If you're doing any woods or field hunting, make sure to check your selves thoroughly after each hunt.
Here are the meager results for the week. (2 hunts).
I was able to recover a nice dandy button along with two other flat buttons and a musket ball. I believe the piece on the left in the following picture is a portion of a colonial buckle. The item right next to it appears to be a pendant of some sort due to the clasp attached to it. I'm not really sure what the 2 pieces with the designs are in the middle of this picture. Possibly some broken parts of a toy gun?
The only coins I was able to find were a 1945 wheatie and an 1895 indian head.
I found this bell kind of interesting. I'm used to finding broken crotal bells so this was kind of a nice change.
I got a few relic cases and started putting one together for just some of the buttons I've found. Most of these buttons are colonial but there are a few modern ones mixed in too.
Thanks for looking! I'll just finish off the post with a nice shot I took of the water out behind a homesite I was hunting recently. Enjoy!
