If it is a 1000 peso coin, then it is almost 100$ not 10$ Right now there are 10.98 pesos to the us dollar.

Great little ring too.
You really have a good hunt ethic.....

That's an old peso.

1000 old peso = 1 new peso

It's worth between 9 and 10 cents.

Hey Steve. Great hunt! You find some great sites.

I have a old photo almost identical to your avatar. I was on a Navy flight crew at Barbers Point, Hawaii 1959-1961. Did your photo come from the same place? Inquiring minds want to know....

Steve, I found that "$1000" Mexican coin last year that was minted in 1989 and after research found in 1993 the peso was devalued 1000:1 against the US dollar and some time later, the Mexican government discontinued taking the prior 1993 coins in exchange. So, what you have is a nice souvenir...or if you're a golfer like me, makes a nice ball marker ;D. It's really a very nice looking coin.

Look at all that lunch money! That's a lot of digging. Great job.
