Hey guys - I plan on exercising for the next month instead of detecting so I went out for a few hours for the last three days to try to hold myself over until I lose 15 lbs. I know the ground is hard and grass is drying up so I tried finding some new turf. Ended up getting permission to hunt an area where an old lagoon had been dredged and dumped. I could tell it was old due to the blue and aqua glass and bits of old pottery etc. I was hoping for some old coins but just found some relics... I think the Swim Meet pin is my favorite. Also need to research the Illinois TAC badge. Not sure how old that is and can't find much info on it with the google. Also like the fact that the ornate piece of plate has some info on the maker. I can't wait to find out more about that.
As for all the rings, only one is 925 and actually a 925FAS which I learned is Fused Alloy Silver. Must be why it looks kind of crappy. Maybe it was plated? I think the purple rock is Amethyst but I need to have it tested. It also has 6 small rocks which may be diamonds whoohoo!
Bonus was 5 silver dimes and a couple indians. I am glad the 1884 is in pretty nice shape.
