This was No.2 of our last chance fields before the harvest & last time we were out (before our recent holidays) we found an area that was easy to dig & had only a few weeds. When we returned today the weeds were everywhere & the ground was solid! Therefore, we could only spent 2.5 hours gridding this area. We did pretty well considering, & kept our silver streak alive & well;

Spec. Buckle (Oldest find of the day)
1921 Florin
1909 + 1920 Sixpence

Good news is with all the crazy heat wave going on we will get an early Barley & oilseed rape crop. (About 1 week early, ie. next week):thumbsup:

Another great hunt with silvers! I’m traveling from Paris to Venice for 2 weeks in July with the family, but promised not to bring my detector. I’m sure I’ll be looking into the Woods and Fields from the train just wondering what kind history is in there. Congrats!!

A good day on Silver and even better days are around the corner with harvest starting early. :hello2: Barley is ready for harvest here too, but the soil is like concrete. We'll see in two weeks....
I would date the buckle late 14th.C. here. What do you say Cru?

Congrats on a great hunt considering the weeds and ground.

Every car journey I take I'm looking at the fields, thinking the same thing.

I'm not sure we will have much better days to begin with but we will have a couple more choices, including fields we have never tried & a small part of the Field of 500.

14th C would fit the beginning of the time-frame.

It always amazes me the amount of old coppers you pull out of the fields in the UK Cru. :thumbsup:

Hopefully, finding silver any silver coins makes your day better, as it does mine. :laughing7:

We normally pull out blank Georgians, so this many Pennies & halfpennies etc is not that usual in a short hunt. We believe it's associated to an old football pitch.
