We found last week that we still have 2 ploughed field options & both are workable. It seems these hilly spots have suffered from drying out & the grass & weeds look sun burnt. I wish we would get some rain though as the ground is solid!
No silver this time but we are happy with our 5 hours gridding as we can see some potential for a hammered in the future.
We spotted some night hawk diggings but I'm not worried about them as they missed plenty.:laughing7:

Nice 18th C Pewter 'Rose' Button
4 Jettons
5 Roman Coins (1 nice holed one) + one extremely rare one!:occasion14:
Tudor Strap-end
Spec Buckle & 17th C Spur Buckle
Medieval Thimble
Roman Plate Brooch
1st C AD Roman Ring Bezel
Our first Heart shaped 18th C Cuff-link

http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/today-s-finds/389950-extremely-rare-roman-coin.html

We were trying to ID the bottom right Roman Coin & we knew it was a rare Carausius but I just realised its probably the 3rd know example of this coin. See the 2nd one that I found at the above link. However, I believe its an imitation but the British Museum will confirm this later!

Update;

It may not be the exact coin but it will be extremely rare & we will email the BM before we drop them off at our next visit.

very awesome Cru, you must have one heck of a library or access to many books plus know your way around the internet. I know that many appreciate your help in IDs on various things found over here. your working knowledge is outstanding just like you finds. it is awesome to see you and your father working together like you do, sharing a love for something. I have a good library & Cru'dad has a Library of Roman Coin books. However, this is not in any of them & had I not realised Cru'dad would have spent hours researching this one! I don't really use the internet very often to ID my finds, its in my head. (mostly)

Amazing Finds, Congrats! If you need some rain there, do what I do, I wash my car! Always works. We just paid a company to wash our windows and it started to rain before they left. Only waxed my car once, never again, it got hailed on!

Very good, but in my case I better get the bicycle out.

I'm always amazed by your daily hunt finds! :notworthy: I bet you need a warehouse to display all of the treasures! :icon_thumleft:

Wow killer day!!!
