Here is the haul from this weekend, I am tired and its way to much to list, Top Finds I belive were the coins and the rooster. I hope ya'll enjoy as much as I have. I probaly only got to sift 15% of the place due to time, and M.D. 75 % due to the concret bricks lieing around, what else is there is anyones guess but it will soon be covered in concret for 100 plus years :'(

Great coins!

Nate, there was a major Iorn masking problem all quarters were found M.D.ing, most the dimes and nickles were found sifting, one Quarter was 10 inches deep, laying flat and silent untill I striped off 8 inches of the dirt and it rung up. some of the dimes were ify until I got some dirt off em, and then no more than 5 inches deep, all of the nickles were foil or pull tab. It was quite a learning exp. with the S.E., but also kinda sad in that now I am wondering what great stuff we are missing.
On the whole, and to answer the question Most coins were found Sifting, but no quarters were found while sifting. Kinda funny also the bottles were right at hard pack level 8 inches or so but the stoppers were above that.

killer digs!!!!!!!!
after its all cleaned up get some plastic organizers and store that stuff all together ;)

Great job. I can see why you are so tired. Looks like a great day though. Great coins.

First off - VERY SWEET finds! What a great haul. Too bad they are a little banged up but some might clean up well.

Nate and I have run into the masking thing. Sometimes you get "lucky" by scraping off the top two inches or so of dirt. It's not always easy figuring where the high percentage of coins are likely to be. Also can be a lot of work for very little payback. The best thing is to get the smallest coil you have and turn the gain down to 14 or so. I've had shallower coins become masked by deeper iorn. Only when I turn the gain down do the shallower coins come in loud and clear.

And to think that all that treasure was under their feet.
What a loss, but what a gain for you!
Those are some great finds, even if some of those are banged up a little.
