Mary and I went to a park that was built over an old house that caught on fire right in the center of town. I didn't think we would find anything because it was really landscaped and new dirt brought in and was spread all over to make it more pleasant looking. So we were detecting and getting lots of trash and very few clad coins. Was getting dark and decided to go home. As I always do I drag my coil to the side of me while walking out of a spot. I hear all these iron grunts and then as I'm passing by a big tree I get a nice tone. I look and the depth is only 2 inches so I say what the heck dig it. Out pops the 1848 LC! This is the best looking LC I have found! Love it!
Yesterday we went to a spot close to my house. This is the spot where I dug my first ever Barber quarter. I have the 6-inch coil on because this spot has a ton of nails! And some copper nails too, hate those nails. So I get a 12-13 and dig up a Buffalo, then I dig a memorial, then a copper nail, a wheaty, then another copper nail, and another, and another, and I decide to move. So glad I did! I get a really good signal in the 30's, a little bouncy and I can hear some iron grunts. I dig the hole and out pops a 1900 Barber!
