The 1971-D was gold-plated. It has kinda worn down, but can still be seen.

We expectses two boxes from the Master on Thursday.....then we looks again for the preciousss!

Nice job on the silver MF.

Don't you just hate to find those proofs that are in bad shape.....man that beats all! I have one that is in such bad shape it is not worth keeping but I just can't seem to put it back out into circulation. It is so bad it may not even be worth face value....ha!

Remember, even "rough looking" proof halves still carry a premium. Not as high, obviously, if they were in Proof condition; but their low mintages warrant a premium. They're still keepers. IMHO

I save all proofs. If I ever sell them, it will be on a per roll basis. I feel I would get more by selling them that way, than individually.
