Largest size dredge I can run effectively?

I just picked up a used gx120 with an hp160 for a great deal now I'm wondering what's the largest dredge I can put together and have it be effective? I'll likely be using it on beach sand most of the time but I would also like to use it in the river as well.

you better plan on buying a jet or a suction nozzle for your 1st attempt! youll be money and time ahead!

Bringing this back from the dead is it possible for me to run a 4 inch effectively if I am long arming in beach sand? I might just give it a whirl on my own once I get the parts.

Maybe if you didn't have ANY lift of material to the sluice and used short hose (10 foot NOT 20 foot) the pump isn't up to much lifting and load (bigger rocks / gravels)
