First I'll post my mind blowing find for the day...

Why is a silver rosie a mind blowing find? Because it's pretty near the end of August and this is my first silver rosie for the year!:dontknow:

Love this store card. Dime left in for reference. From what I can find dates to the mid 1800s.

I couldn't find a whole large cent...I had to settle for a piece of one. Don't see too many cut coins in Michigan.

082314Pendant.jpg

The pendant is sterling and quite delicate. Not sure of the age but based on the design, I bet it's older than me.:notworthy:

082314Key.jpg

An old miniature key.

082314Whatsit.jpg

An ornate whatsit. Jewelry maybe?

And of course no hunt is complete without the dreaded dateless Buffalo Nickel.

Today's finds...
1960 Roosevelt Dime
Dateless Buffalo Nickel
3 Wheatbacks 1909, 1941, and 1950-D (Not pictured)
Cut piece of large cent
Store Token, Foster and Parry, Grand Rapids, Mich. Circa 1850
Antique sterling silver pendant
Miniature skeleton key
Ornate whatsit

No. All these came from the school back towards town. I take that back. I found the pendant down by the old cemetery but spent relatively little time in the newer part of the tear out. I will be out of town tomorrow, so best of luck out there. Hope you have lots to show me from the new portion of the tear-out.
Also ran into John while he was detecting. Nice guy!

Well I got out tonight instead of tomorrow morning and got skunked! Found a suspender clip and a bunch of nails. Also ran into John again and also Brian(?). They found some pennies and oddities, but not much else. That new section seems to be really void of signals. Anyway, Im gonna try to get out once more before next weekend, hope to see you out there! I think I located some sites to hunt up north, they look pretty promising! HH
