I found this today at a yard sale. Paid .50 and it was black and dirty. It didnt clean up like sterling but with the acid test it reads as sterling. Would something that us 800 silver have the same acid reading as sterling? Btw, it's 73 grams.

Nice bracelet. As for silver, what I would recommend is to toss that red 'silver testing solution' and just use 18k gold testing acid. The 18k acid will react with fine or sterling silver by forming a dull, light gray coating. When used on coin or 800 silver, the reaction may have a very slight green tint but will still not be very reactive and will still form the gray oxide coating. You should be able to leave the acid on the piece with no noticeable change other than the initial reaction. The reaction of 18k acid on silver plate is usually very noticeable and strong. After several seconds the area will turn green and begin to 'fizz'. Reactions of the 18k acid on other material (i.e. modern clad coins, stainless steel, etc) may be mild but will not form that light gray coating.
