Large round object with what looks like a family crest.

I found this in my back yard in Norfolk, Va. sometime in 1984 I was treasure hunting for the first time so I guess i was practicing to go out in public. I found this about a foot deep. I scanned the picture. The actual size is 2 5/8" across. It looks like it hung on a necklace or someting and seems to be made of bronse.

It's a token or fob... Very possibly from a ribbon/medal
