Large “R” logo plate

Found this in a very trashy part of an old park. Any ideas on ID?

It reminds me of the Rambler logo. Maybe a hubcap center or horn button, but I can't understand the odd shaped hole in it

Interesting could it be the top of some kind of can that had liquid or oil in it ?

My first thought was a Rambler logo as well... but it doesn't look quite right. :icon_scratch:

Here are a couple of Rambler logo examples.

The the first is from 1958 - 60, the second one is from the 1940s.
