I found this today while looking through some stuff I acquired from my late grandfather. Does anyone know what this large of a emblem would have went on. I am thinking WWII since my grandfather was in it but I don't know for sure. I also believe that it is made of copper due to the patina/corrosion. Across the top it simply says "SCHREINER". The back uses a threaded nut to secure it to whatever. Also on the back at the tips of the each wing there is a small point, I also assume to help secure it.

Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks for looking.

In that case, maybe it's their own cap badge and not an ROTC variant, but it's obviously modeled on the ROTC badge:

Very interesting, would this be considered rare or would it have value? I don't want to sell it or anything just put a story with the item. The best I remember, all of my family that went to war didn't have any college but they could have been part of the ROTC.
