About 2 feet long, metal was thin enough that I could bend it. Don't think it was part of a farm implement being so thin. Came from a cellar hole where I dug a few flat buttons, pewter fork, and late 1800's ring so it has some age.

Strap hinge?

It looks like the right end has an intentional 90º bend ... My guess is a hanging bracket of some sort, perhaps for steam pipes.

Trammel hook.

Its not a hinge. The right side has a 90 degree angle with a hole in it, and the hook end would not allow the piece to lay flat against a surface as a hinge would. Was thinking some kind of cooking pot hanger but not really sure.

Trammel hook, - an adjustable piece of hardware for hanging a kettle over the fire to cook. See reply #6 in this thread...

I think Matt is correct in my expert opinion

If it is thin enough to bend, it isn't a trammel hook
