I revisited a yard I hit last year, and I found the 1918 large cent. It's my second ever large cent, so I was very happy! When I opened the plug, I saw the coin and figured it was a dirty clad quarter. It's weird, I have found a lot of silver from the era of Canadian large cents, but only ever two actual large cents--I wonder why. I also found a wheatie and a few other coins, but that's it.

Then I decided to hit the fairway on the golf course that has old wagon tracks. I found the 1910 5cent silver about 4 inches deep. It was a solid mid tone from one angle, and then sweet high tone from the other angle. It's a beauty!

Very nice coins ! Hopefully you got the more rare variety of 5 cent (ML Bow , see Charlton Standard Catalogue )

Haha! I was just posting this very question in the coins forum with close-ups. I believe it is the ML Bow variety!

Very cool finds, I like finding older Canadian coins, yesterday I found a 1932 Canadian cent, WTG! HH.

Nice old coins, congrats!
