Man, I had to work for this baby. Only my fourth Canadian large cent since 2010, so naturally I'm happy with it. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1429748337.320576.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1429748378.467368.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1429748402.428059.jpg

I really like the reverse of the Canadian LC's. Very nice JC!

Considering the sites you hunt I'm surprised you've found few Canadian large cents in the past couple of years. Your find today is fairly decent, they tend to come out severely corroded, yours is better than most!

Another great effort bud. You my friend are on a hot streak

Yes, I find it baffling that I haven't found more large cents. It's strange that I have found many IH cents and early Wheats, yet only four Canadian largies?! It rang a solid 85 on the Deus, and that's a signal I would always dig, so either I am just unlucky, or people didn't drop them as much around here.

Very cool, those old Canadian large cents are real nice!

I'm sure you're digging every signal but the results speak for themselves and so far they're keeping pretty tight lipped lol
The age of your hunting areas would suggest that more lcs should be there, here's hoping this is the one that opens up the door for more!

Nice digs . Thanks for sharing the story and the pictures with us

Congratulations on the old copper find!

I will keep digging and digging and digging. More large cents must appear haha.

Many times when I'm at a spot that has Canadian silver coins from 1890s -1920s, I find them along with US pennies. Even in spills (or finds close together), the coins that should be large cents are instead US cents. I think being on the border thins my chances for LC's a bit, but I'm not complaining because it also means I get old US coins.

That's one advantage I've noticed about you guys closer to the border, the mix of coins from both us and the states ; I'm not close enough for the same mix but the odd one does surface.
Yep just keep at it, it's all we can do!

Great looking penny! A fun coin to dig, I have dug two or three Canadian large cents this side of the border over the years.

Steve

Yes, a bit strange so few LC, but that's a nice one.
And frankly except for the 1858 LC, I'd take the silver your finding first anyway.

NICE FIND !!

Nice LC! Congrats! GL & HH!

I had a large "copper" reading yesterday....mine was a brass lock. I'm still looking for any LC with a date!

Very nice large copper. Congrats.
