Got out today detecting for a few hours on some farm fields that date back to the early 1700's. I wasnt finding much at first until i bumped into a couple locals that directed us to a small patch of woods in the back side of the 65 acre farm where there was a well and a very old foundation, after swinging a just a few minutes i found to large coppers.. Couldnt make them out so i shot home and cleaned them up. I got a toasted LC and a King George copper farthing.

What do you guys think of the farthing? Originaly i thought it was a 177?, but after a closer look its left faceing, King George II.. to me it looks like a 173?.. what do you guys see?

Well you have a Kg2 for sure. I would think 1730 by my eyes. Great find. My best KG2 is a 1734.

Cheers!
