I found this button beside the stamp act button last sunday. Its the largest button I have found its just over a 1 1/2 inches. Its shank is broken but someone drilled a whole in it I guess they really liked it and made a necklace out of it when it broke. I was just thinking it might be more than a regular button. Does anybody have any idea what it might be or is it just a regular button. Thanks!

Yeah I really like it too. My guess is a mid 1700's "Dandy" Button in sweet shape. One would have worn buttons like this in the day to "display ones wealth. Hence the phrase, " well isn't that just "Dandy?" or, he's a real Dandy...That is just my guess though...HHHH

I vote for a "Dandy" button as well but can't tell the date range. Maybe the back will help. Also knowing what the material is would help.

That's a very nice button :icon_king:

Any decor in the center of the button?

I would second that.
On a tangent, this is why the modern day Amish don't use buttons on anything, they use snaps or hooks, because buttons were deemed "proud" or "flashy"
Good stuff Rando! HHHH
