I believe it's in the neoclassic style which was popular 1830 ish and somewhat later into the Victorian Period. It's a very nice button.

Well thats an odd-ball. Not seen this decor type before.

The button size & construction screams 1750-80, but the bust throws me a little. I never normally ask this question but does the site give more clues?

Old plantation site. Have dug buttons and artifacts from 1600-1900. Along with rev war and civil war buttons.

OK, so I'll stick with my Dandy style button date. A rare type IMO.

Looks like a conquistador, or wearing a roman helmet?????
The classical style does kind of make sense for the time period, as they saw these & copied them from their grand tours.

I think I found something similar last week. IMG_3409.jpgIMG_3404.jpg

Mine seems to lack a back mark and is made of some type of resin with the bust attached.
Is that like yours?
