Arrived back at the Roman field on sunday only to find that the farmer wasn't happy about us going back on the bean field, so we moved over a field to were he had started ploughing this was the field that had produced the David11 groat. The soil in these parts is very sandy and when it's just been ploughed you just sink in but it's great for detecting, finds were few and far beetween the usual clad buttons lead copper coins etc I don't know if it was the dry conditions but they did not to be as many signals as there was before the ploughing, after a while a nice crisp two way signal saw me staring at my biggest button to date it had been pierced and perhaps used as a pendent, two or three paces on and another crisp signal and what looks like a pilgrims badge( I will look forward to hear what you think of it Dug ). This might be the last post for a while because land is scarce now and the cricket season starts soon hope you enjoy the pictures TK.
